This is the classic Seltz table lamp, designed by Rodolfo Dordini for Venini. It has a handblown Murano glass base with a traditional Muranese design, created using a special technique passed down from one generation of Venetian master craftsmen to the next.

The glass master blows the glass into a special mould, then shapes the base by hand. Finally, the hot glass is rolled over a special tool to create the fine ribs, before being allowed to cool.

The lamp is accompanied by a white fabric shade to allow the craftsmanship of the base to take centre stage.
